Salvage and Repair Station: Allows you to repair and reinforce your equipment in exchange for Scrap Parts. It can also be used to break down existing tools, weapons, and armor to get Scrap Parts. It's best to craft a few cheap tools and destroy them so you can repair your good tools.
I defeated one boss like 10 times in the early game, only to discover that they dropped a Magic weapon, when I decided to kill them once more at the end. I cant even imagine the expierience of having to play a Magic class, and actually having to redo a boss so many times with a sub-optimal setup, only to get 1 upgreade.

Malugaz, on the other hand, requires a special item. You'll need to collect 3 Crystal Skull Shards, put them on your Hotbar, and right-click in order to craft a Skull of the Corrupted Shaman. You must then place this on Malugaz's rune in order to summon him.
Torch - these are key to being able to see in the dark of the underground. Holding the Shift key temporarily pulls torches, from anywhere in inventory, into the currently selected hot-bar slot, for illumination and placement.

Boss fights range from fairly easy to pretty difficult. I haven't done all of them yet, but my impression is that all can be defeated solo. However, for some of them you may need to wait for specific items to drop, Core Keeper Gameplay and their drop rate is very very low.
